JMMS Clubs: National Junior Honor Society

ational Junior Honor Society is a prestigious national organization which selects its members from among the outstanding middle school students in the nation. Being selected is truly an honor. The purpose of the National Junior Honor Society is to promote and recognize academic excellence, to promote leadership and service, and to develop character and promote good citizenship among middle school students.

Students selected for induction to the NJHS will have the opportunity to participate in many exciting activities includingcommunity service projects, school service projects including peer tutoring, and reward activities. There will also be an induction ceremony to officially welcome new members into the organization.

Membership Requirements
According to the National NJHS Constitution, members shall be selected by a faculty council of six members. The faculty council will base its selections on the following criteria:
1. The student must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5
2. The student shall demonstrate outstanding scholarship, leadership, service, character and citizenship.
