JMMS Clubs: Career Explorers

s we move towards more online career activities for all 8th grade students, this year members will have the opportunity to create and maintain an online career portfolio by using Choices. Through an extensive interest survey, students will be able to identify numerous occupations, based on their responses, that might be of interest to them. Students will be able to learn about the job outlook for the various areas, educational institutions offering training programs, salaries, etc. Even more special is the fact that students will be able to access this program from their home computer thus allowing them the opportunity to access it afterschool.

Students will continue to have access to the over 100 career related films available at the school. Students may choose to watch any film of interest during our scheduled meetings and will take part in discussions related to careers.

As part of Career Explorers, members will:

Have the opportunity to create and maintain an online career portfolio

Identify numerous occupations that might be of interest to them

Learn about the job outlook for the various areas of interest

Have access to the over 100 career related films available at the school

Assist in the planning of our annual Career Morning activities

Membership Requirements

Anyone who wants to learn about career opportunities.

Students should keep a minimum of As, Bs, and 4 Cs. No Ds or Fs will be accepted.
