The Parent Resource Centers were developed through a partnership with Nova Southeastern University (NSU) and Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) through NSU's Florida School Choice Resource Center, M-DCPS' Office of Parental Involvement, and Title I Administration.
The Parent Resource Centers provide parents, schools, and organizations working with families with training, information, and technical assistance to understand how children develop and what they need to be successful in school.

The
Education Fund and
Miami-Dade County Public Schools have created this Parent Resource
Guide as a “one-stop” reference with information on
your role, your rights and your options in your child’s
educational experience. In its pages, you will find tips on how to help
your child in school, understand standardized tests such as the FCAT,
become an advocate for your child, and get involved to improve the
educational system.
The
Educational Excellence School Advisory Council (EESAC) is
the body responsible for decision making at the
school
relating to the implementation of the components of the School
Performance Excellence Plan.
Duracell® and the National Center for
Missing & Exploited Children®
(NCMEC) have developed the Power of
Parents
program — a nationwide child safety preparedness program
designed to
help families protect their children. The program
helps to dispel the
most common safety myths and remind families of the importance of
keeping an up-to-date photo of their child.
