2. Hours of supervision of students

The staff of José Martí Middle School provides additional supervision of students before school from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM, and after school from 3:40 PM to 4:15 PM.

3. Lunch Schedule

Lunch times are based on the student's second block (period 2/5) teacher.

4. Cost of school lunch

Breakfast is currently free for all students. Lunch prices vary based on information from the Free/Reduced lunch application form that students/parents filled out at the beginning of the school year. M-DCPS Department of Food and Nutrition

5. Uniform Policy

José Martí Middle School is a mandatory uniform school. Students must come to school wearing their uniforms every day. Boys and girls should wear white or navy blue polo shirts with the school emblem and khaki pants. Girls may not wear skirts. Undershirts worn by students should only be white. Uniform Policy page. 7. Procedure for excused absence admit 

Students who have been absent need to visit the cafeteria between 8:15 AM and 8:50 AM on their first day back to school to receive an admit. The student should provide a note from a doctor or his/her parent or guardian giving a reason for the absence. The admit must be signed by teachers to ensure that all teachers mark the absence as excused in their grade book. (School Board Rule 6Gx13- 5A-1.04)

8. Scheduling a Parent/Teacher Conference

To schedule a Parent/Teacher conference, parents should contact Ms. Malik, our Community Involvement Specialist, by phone at (305)557-5931 or by visiting our Main Office. Ms. Malik will fill out a conference request form, add the conference to our calendar, and notify the teacher(s) of the conference request. Parents will receive a copy of the form with the scheduled meeting time. Parents are expected to bring their child to the conference.

9. Homework Policy
The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida recognizes that regular purposeful homework is an integral factor in fostering the academic achievement of students. (School Board Rule 6Gx13-6A-1.23) Students are given a minimum of two homework assignments each week by each teacher.
