During the March 14, 2007 meeting of the School Board of Miami Dade County, Jose Marti Middle School was recognized with a Platinum Award "for superior performance in the 2005-2006 school year." Ms. Hantman, School Board Member for district 4, presented the award to Mr. Enriquez, our principal, Mr. Leon, and Ms. Conroy. Also, present from Regional Center I were Superintendent Dr. Marcos Moran and Administrative Directors Dr. Neraida Smith, Ms. Jennifer D. Andreu and Mr. Richard Vidal.

The Platinum Award is presented to schools that achieve a performance grade of "A"
