The Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Department at José Marti Middle School is dedicated to meeting the individual needs of all their students. We currently have eight Varying Exceptionalities units, two self-contained Emotionally Handicapped units, three Gifted units, and three self-contained Autistic units.

Throughout the school year we work together to have special activities such as dances, picnics, field trips, assemblies, etc. Our main goal is to motivate and encourage the students to achieve, therefore, allowing them to be successful. ESE teachers closely monitor student achievement in general education classes in order for the students to be successfully included.
